Pure Light Illuminates The Knot’s Orange County Bridal Fair by the Sea!

If you haven’t already heard, The Bridal Fair by the Sea has been given given an “A1” rating by The Knot Magazine, and is the highest rated Bridal Fair in all of Orange County!
The 2010 Bridal Fair By-The-Sea took place at the spectacular Laguna Cliffs Resort and Spa, a Marriott Resort, in Dana Point on Sunday, April 11, 2010, from 11:00 to 5:00. This stunning ocean-view venue was more stylish and luxurious than ever, as it has recently revealed a multi-million dollar renovation. It was a perfect backdrop for the light and love which Pure Light Celebrations shares.
Best of all, the exciting must-attend event provided Pure Light with great exposure and wonderful feedback from passing brides and event planners. Many guests loved our Unity Candle offering, and especially our place card holder tykes! We also encouraged our ceremony space and lanai catering for bridal parties and showers, as well. As expected, most brides are looking for a unique wedding experience, and we were pleased to show them our ideas.
The Bridal Fair By-The-Sea featured over 100 of the top wedding experts, as well as give away a $25,000 Dream Wedding, all in a bridal event unlike any other. We look forward to next year’s event, and the success it will bring. Plus, we wouldn’t want to miss another sampling of the richest, most buttery cakes and treats in Southern California! All in all, it was a lovely experience for everyone who attended.

Celebrating More New Beginnings

The grand opening celebration at our Irvine Spectrum Center location on Thursday, July 9 was an evening filled with joy, thanks to all of our friends, loved ones and supporters who joined us for the festivities. The music by Frank Zuma had people dancing in their shoes while we shared delicious homemade eats, delightful company and the pleasure of telling our story to those who came in to experience creating their own candles.
We are thrilled to expand our community of spirit and cannot be more excited by the support we have received in the short time we’ve been open at the Irvine Spectrum Center. We look forward to continuing the spreading of light and love that has come with Pure Light. Thank you for sharing it with us!

Pure Light “Shines” On TV

We were blessed to be invited to appear on OC Lifestyle this month! Here’s the video airing now. Cox Channel 3’s crew came in and captured an afternoon of candlemaking, ceremony and feast to give a glimpse of a day in the life of Pure Light. They also touched on our nature-inspired products and the bittersweet story behind Pure Light. The TV show features the best in OC fine dining, entertainment, shopping, spas and community events. We’re thankful the word continues to spread about our secret store/sanctuary in the canyon created to “let your creativity shine.” Share your thoughts about the segment. Peace, Love and Light

Turn on the news these days and you may think the world is getting anything but more peaceful—but take heart and take note. The Global Peace Index just announced the world is actually a more peaceful place than it was last year. The GPI study, endorsed by likes of the Dalai Lama and more, found peace on earth to be greatest in Iceland, Denmark, Norway, New Zealand and Japan. The US ranked 97 of 140 nations, but here’s the hope: Japan. Just 65 years ago it was seen as a war-mongerer and today it ranks fifth. Japan and the other best harmonious peacekeepers shared the importance of good relations with their neighbors, trust among its citizens and respect for human rights. So what can we learn from all of this? Is it as simple as getting along, respecting one another and trusting? Who knows, but it’s a good start. Iceland, the list leader, may shed a little light on it all too. It seems Icelandics are blessed with amazing, underwater, thermal spas and summers with daylight for 20 hours a day. So in addition to being a little kinder and gentler every day, maybe go get a massage, enjoy the sun this summer and light your world with enough candles to light the night’s sky. And let’s just see what happens.

Circle of Friends

Our 1-Year Anniversary event was a wonderful three days of celebration, friendship and support this past weekend. We just wanted to thank all of you who came out to honor our one-year mark, as well as the birthday of our son, Tyeson, who would have turned 28 on Friday. It was truly heartwarming to see old friends of Tye’s as well as those who never knew him, but support the spirit of creativity that guides Pure Light. Friday night we had Tye’s Hungry Punker video playing, enjoyed a BBQ feast he would have loved and revealed the new CD of his lost songs entitled, “Figuring Out My Life.” We’ll have the CD at the store so please come by and take a listen—all proceeds of the sale will go to a new foundation we have created called The Lhyric Foundation, designed to help artists take back their lives before addiction takes over. Saturday and Sunday were paired with more celebration, cake and lots of candlemaking. It was a bittersweet weekend filled with precious memories, old and new friends and the bright light of what lies ahead.

Sparking Great Conversation

When’s the last time you had a really great conversation with someone? When you learned something new? When you listened to the last word before you uttered the next word? When a pot of tea was your only other form of entertainment? For many of us, the answer is far too long ago, because we get busy, we have obligations, errands … life. So the conversations we end up having are those at the water cooler, those in passing, those over cocktails—and dare we say, those about weather, only spoken to break the silence of nothing better to say. Well enough talking at, to, down and over, how about talking together? Openly? Freely? And about things that matter?
Pure Light is bringing back conversation with a series of conversation gatherings designed to get people talking again and to embrace the unique thoughts of each us, learning with open minds and open hearts.
Our first series is our Yoga-Inspired Conversations, every Wednesday at 10 am. We’ll begin with a session of yoga that will help center the mind and awaken the senses and help us be present for a 40-minute inspired conversation. Topics will range from “Women’s Work and Forming Spiritual Circles” to “Awakening into Nature” to “Creativity” and Inner Beauty.” (Visit our calendar for more details.) We’re also creating a Pure Light Book Club to discuss some of today’s best-selling reads, such as Eckhart Tolle’s, “A New Earth” that is currently being chatted about on Oprah and around the world.
