Calling all Goddesses!
Wednesday, April 09, 2008
Behold, our Goddess Candles are finally back in stock at Pure Light! These exquisite, sculpted candles were one of the first items we chose to offer at our store because of their natural beauty and the symbolic imagery of women gathered together.
At Pure Light, we believe every woman is a goddess with a unique power to create, nurture and transform. We each have an extraordinary beauty and charm, regardless of what we’re wearing, what we do, how much we weigh or how many “expression lines” are on our face.
Celebrate your inner goddess with one of these hand-poured wonders with burn times up to 300 hours—that’s about an hour of illumination every day of the year. A perfect daily ritual to remind you of your almighty gifts. You go, girl.

Matters of the heart
Monday, April 07, 2008
Have you ever known someone who holds all their emotions inside—they’re always strong, they’re always okay, they’re always a rock? But in truth, they have trials like all of us, they just don’t know how to express themselves, or they may be afraid to expose their weaknesses and their vulnerabilities.
At Pure Light, we invite you to wear your heart on your sleeve...to be open to sharing, open to emotions and open to truth and healing. We bring this up because you may have read the Story of Pure Light, if not, we invite you to read it now. It’s the story of a young, creative soul named Tyeson, full of life and unbridled energy who died before his dreams came true. Pure Light was created in memory and honor of Tyeson. Please don’t be afraid to ask about him and our beginnings. His memories bring us great joy and we hope sharing our story can help others see the light of brighter tomorrows. Tyeson embraced life and the philosophy of living every day to the fullest. We invite you to do the same, and wear your heart on your sleeve so that you can let others in and so that they can help you through the darker times, as well as celebrate the joys that lie ahead.

It promises to be a fun, healthful and creative night of insights and understandings. Also on hand will be a palm reader and we’ll discuss candles and their meditative benefits, and much more. Open your minds and your hearts and drink in a unique Girls Night Out. The cost is $65 and includes a 15-minute reading, a 15-minute seated massage, candlemaking and refreshments. Still “un” lightened?
Thursday, April 03, 2008
We’re a candle studio, so we see people leave with new candles every day. But what we don’t see is what happens to our fire friends after they leave. Are they lit and luminated for the senses to see, smell and enjoy, or are they saved, preserved, kept structured for that perfect occasion a month from now, a year from now, ten years later?
We all probably have one favorite candle that’s been there for years, untouched, uncelebrated, unable to burn bright. But why? Why is that lavendar pillar of tranquility or grapefruit votive of invigoration still sitting there? Won’t we get more tranquility and invigoration by lighting it? By watching it cast its spell of peace and beauty? Say it out loud, “I’m gonna go light my candle today.” Then go get your fire stick and light it up.
Chances are, afterward, you’ll probably say, “I should have done that years ago.” Many things in life are that way. If we only lived more in the moment and less for what lies ahead, what lies ahead would probably be a lot more interesting.

New beginnings
Wednesday, April 02, 2008
Our very first blog! How exciting and how full of unknowns. It feels kind of like when you throw a party and you never know exactly who is going to show up. Will it be your old trusted friends who you know and you love? Or will it be someone new, who was a friend of a friend who just happened to come along? Old best friends and new great friends—both are a blessing and both are whom we hope will come to this celebration of life, of awakenings, of new beginnings. We look forward to the journey ahead and invite you to share ... because you’re among friends.
